Wow!
That was quite a learning experience. I actually had to start completely over on exercise 3, but once I did things started coming together. I loved how easily items that were "placed" just snapped right into the main document.
I must admit that I did get a little frustrated a few times. I did not have the exact fonts that the text mentioned. The one that was showing did not have the capability of being both bold and italicized. Some of the fonts were missing, so I just made do with what I did have on hand.
One thing I did learn was "verso" means left and "recto" means right! I am intrigued by what could be done in future lessons as we get accustomed to suing InDesign. I have attached my finished pieces, for whatever that is worth.
C.R.A.P. elements in this lesson:
Since this is a design class, we are to focus on the Contrast, Repetition, Alignment and Proximity elements of an item. Lesson 3 used white text on a blue background for a color contrast. Repetition was used by learning about the eye dropper and picking up the color from an existing object and using it to color a separate area. Repetition was also used when we created and applied master page set ups to different pages. We learned how to align placeholders that aided in the placement of large amounts of text for visually appealing layouts. I'm not sure there was a great deal that centered on proximity in this lesson unless you count the placement of the pictures as borders around the text.
